Catherine Rose Chiara
Catherine Rose Chiara is sacristan and parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake in Mandeville, Louisiana. Catherine began painting in 1994. Not knowing that her talent was a gift from God, she squandered her gift. In late January of 2012, possibly the feast day of the conversion of St. Paul, Catherine saw Jesus Christ and a year and a half later had a conversion. The conversion led her from Cincinnati, Ohio to Mandeville, Louisiana. God took away her desire to paint and use her gift. As time went by and she grew closer to Jesus she began to get back her gift. Jesus asked her to only paint images of him. For 9 years now Catherine has been sacristan, Parish School of Religion teacher, altar server, lector, Catechesis of the Good Shepherd teacher, Lord Teach me to Pray facilitator, and prayer for priest with Rosa Mystica Prayer Group
Praying & Painting Session
When you organize your meeting, Catherine will come to your church and bring all the supplies needed including step by step directions on creating the artwork for that session. While parishioners are using the materials and creating the artwork, Catherine will lead everyone in a Rosary. Plan for 2 hours.
